ACT Superscore Calculator
Combine your highest section scores across multiple ACT test dates into one superscore composite. Compare the boost over your best single sitting, see which sections to focus on for a retake, and check it against a target college tier.

Frequently Asked Questions about the ACT Superscore Calculator
What is ACT superscoring?
The current ACT Superscore Composite averages your highest English, Math, and Reading scores across eligible test dates, then rounds to a whole number. Science is reported separately and can contribute to a STEM score, but it no longer enters the Composite. This calculator follows the current three-section rule.
Which colleges accept ACT superscores?
Each institution sets its own superscore and test-use policy. Confirm it on the current admissions site before sending scores. The University of California system is test-free for admissions, so it does not use a highest ACT sitting or ACT superscore in comprehensive review.
How does the ACT compute the current Composite?
The current Composite averages English, Math, and Reading, then rounds to the nearest whole number. Science is optional and reported separately when taken. Older ACT reports used four sections, but current and superscored Composites use the three core sections.
Is a retake worth it?
It depends on your target, preparation, cost, deadlines, and each institution's score policy. A lower retake may not lower an official superscore, but colleges can receive test-date details and apply their own policy. Compare your current score with the program's current range before deciding.
Do colleges see all my ACT scores or just the ones I send?
ACT lets you choose score-report options, but the information a college receives and the dates it requires depend on the report type and institution policy. An official Superscore report includes component test information. Review ACT's current reporting terms and each recipient's policy before ordering reports.
